Neufin is hiring a Finance Manager (5-6 years post-qualification) to build and lead our finance function. India's power-hungry mid-market is stuck in the dark ages. At Neufin, we aren't just "selling solar." We are building India's first tech-led energy retailer.
We use our proprietary energy software, Lumen, to orchestrate supply from solar, wind, and batteries (BESS) to deliver a single promise: 24x7x365 Best-Priced Clean Energy. This is a high-ownership leadership role reporting directly to the founders. You'll own controllership, FP&A, treasury, and business finance – turning financial insight into the decisions that shape how we scale.

Neufin is a tech-led energy retailer delivering clean, low-cost and flexible energy to India's mid-market Commercial & Industrial businesses.
Our energy software, Lumen, helps businesses track, pay, and optimise their electricity costs (₹/kWh). By integrating real-time IoT data with predictive AI, we enable lower power costs and easier compliance with clean energy targets.
You'll set up the internal finance function at Neufin, owing it end to end – from the monthly closing to fundraising support. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll build the processes, own the monthly MIS reporting, and translate financial data into decisions as we scale.
🧾 Controllership & Reporting (with support from our external accounting partner)
Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accuracy and strong governance.
Prepare financial statements in line with Indian GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely, reliable reporting to management and stakeholders.
Maintain accounting hygiene, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements across finance.
📋 Taxation & Compliance (with support from our external accounting partner)
Oversee all direct and indirect tax filings, assessments, and reconciliations (GST, TDS, Income Tax).
Lead statutory, tax, and internal audits, and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and legal partners.
Stay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively assess their business implications.
💰 Treasury, Debt & Cash Flow
Manage treasury operations, working capital optimisation, and liquidity planning.
Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and track variances against plan.
Own banking relationships end to end and structure debt and treasury to fund working capital in the smartest way possible.
📊 Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Build detailed annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario/sensitivity models.
Deliver monthly MIS, P&L analysis, and business-unit performance dashboards to leadership.
Identify cost optimisation opportunities and support margin improvement initiatives.
Partner with cross-functional teams to align spend with growth priorities.
🤝 Business Finance & Strategic Support
Partner with the founders and business leads to evaluate new projects and pressure-test unit economics.
Work with business teams on revenue ops (including AR), the sales pipeline, and customer contract closures.
Support fundraising, investor reporting, due diligence, and board financial reporting.
⚙️ Process, Automation & Team
Design and implement SOPs that improve accuracy, efficiency, and accountability across finance workflows.
Build automation and controls using AI across billing, revenue recognition, expense management, and reconciliation.
Drive adoption of ERP and finance tools to scale operations efficiently.
Chartered Accountant (CA) - mandatory.
5-6 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with time in a high-growth startup.
Strong working knowledge of Indian taxation (direct & indirect), statutory audits, and financial reporting standards.
Proven experience across FP&A, treasury, and cash flow management.
Hands-on with accounting ERP systems and advanced Excel / financial modelling.
Proven experience raising working capital and term debt from banks – owning the process end to end, from lender pitch and negotiation through to drawdown and ongoing relationship management.
A data-driven mindset with a sharp eye for accuracy, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distil complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
Extreme ownership – you're comfortable operating with autonomy and high accountability.
You thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, 0-to-1 environment and prefer building over maintaining.
You care about getting the details right, and you enjoy working across functions to do it.
Have experience with investor reporting, due diligence support, or fund management.
Have set up finance systems and controls from scratch in an early-stage company.
Understand the C&I energy or infrastructure space.

Each candidate will have ~3–4 interview rounds, namely:
A screening interview to understand your background and motivation to join us.
1-2 rounds of technical interview.
Closing round(s) with our founders.
